Virginia L. McNally

Cumberland—Virginia Leann “Ginny” McNally, 85, of Cumberland passed away at UPMC Western Maryland on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
Born in Cumberland, MD, on January 10, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Roy Jefferys and Evelyn (Thrasher) Robinette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Jefferys and wife, Polly; stepfather, Donald Robinette; brother-in-law, James “Moe” Barrett.
Ginny was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1956. Following high school, Ginny was employed at Footers Cleaners. She was married to Patrick F. “Pat” McNally in 1958; they were the first Catholic couple to marry at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Cresaptown, MD. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, for many years. Ginny was a volunteer at Bishop Walsh School, and she collected Beanie Babies. She also enjoyed working in her garden.
In addition to her husband, Ginny is survived by her daughters, Tina M. McNally and Michael Larkin, and Dianna Helmstetter and husband, Andy; grandchildren, Hailey Trainello and husband, Dillan, Kira Helmstetter, Ryan Helmstetter, Austin Michael, Caden Helmstetter, and Macey Helmstetter; great-grandchildren, Summer Hartley and Lauren Trainello; brother, Roy “Joe” Jefferys and Donna Bone; sisters, Judith Barrett, and Donna Kay Frankenberry and husband, Barth. Ginny is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
At Ginny’s request, there will be no visitation or formal funeral service. She will be buried at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of high level care at UPMC Western Maryland for the kind, considerate care given to Ginny.
