Vladimir Kliputin
February 8, 1937 – September 29, 2026 (Age 89)
Vladimir Pavlovich Kliputin was born in 1937 in Spassk-Dalny, Russia, to Paul and Vera Kliputin. The eldest of seven children, he was affectionately known as Volodya, Dyadya Volodya, and Papa Volodya to the many people whose lives he touched.
Vladimir was a humble and deeply faithful man who sought no recognition for himself. Any praise he received was quickly redirected to his Lord and Savior. His life reflected one of his favorite scriptures:
“For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever.” — Romans 11:36
His family remembers a hardworking father who prayed faithfully, often late into the night, not only for his children but for anyone God had placed upon his heart. He was a natural problem solver with a servant's spirit. If someone was hurting or in need, Vladimir looked for a way to help. His faith remained steadfast even through persecution. As a young man, he endured isolation because of his Christian beliefs, yet never wavered in his commitment to God. Throughout the years, Vladimir and his family lived in Kyrgyzstan and later Tuapse, Russia, where he served as a deacon, cared for the sick and needy, encouraged believers, and helped establish churches in surrounding villages.
His ministry was never about recognition. It was simply about serving people and sharing the love of Christ. Over the years, many came to regard Vladimir and his wife as spiritual parents, and he became lovingly known as Papa Volodya to those who found in him the guidance and encouragement of a father. Vladimir lived what he believed. He cared for the sick, encouraged the discouraged, loved his family deeply, and remained devoted to God throughout his life. His greatest desire was simply to please the Savior he loved and to point others toward Him.
Services honoring Vladimir's life will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Good Shepherd Chapel of Life and Legacy Funerals and Cremations, 6525 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m.
