Walter Zane Dillon, 89, of Greensburg, died, Monday, June 27, 2022, in Brookdale Murrysville. He was born on September 7, 1932, in Norvelt, a son of the late Myrtle Newill Dillon and Charles Wesley Dillon. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Greensburg. He was a graduate of Hurst High School and attended Penn State Erie. Prior to retirement, he was the owner of the former Dillon Packing Company, Greensburg. He was an original member of the Westmoreland County Fair Board, past member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association and member of Mountain View Rotary. He was a mason and belonged to Greensburg Lodge # 225. He was proud to have raised Polled Hereford beef cattle and enjoyed golfing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Mullin Dillon; sisters, Ida Kapalka, Mary Albright, Ferne Keck and Joanne Attenberger. Walter is survived by his children, Charles William Dillon (Frances), Walter Z. Dillon, Jr. (partner, Gina Mercurio), David Wesley Dillon (JoEllen) and Elizabeth Dillon Garrett (Stephen); his sister, Lougene Whiteman; grandsons, Bradley, Charles, Jr., Shawn, Nicholas, David Dillon and James and Colin Garrett; granddaughters, Wesley and Dany Dillon; also, 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 4 to 7 pm at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. A funeral service for Walter will be held on Saturday at 10 am in First United Methodist Church, 15 East Second Street, Greensburg with Pastor Kevin Haley officiating. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church at the above address.
