Wanda D. Stanford

Wanda Denise Stanford, 48 of Zanesville passed away Sunday morning, November 6, 2022 at the James Cancer Center, Columbus Ohio under Hospice Care following a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on Sunday, October 27, 1974 in Augusta Georgia and graduated from Maysville High School in 1993. Wanda attended college in Star, NC where she spent many years of her life working in sales. She later returned to Zanesville and in 1998 her son, Antonio Alessio "Tony" Amato was born and she devoted the rest of her life to watching him grow up & excel in sports. She was his number #1 fan & was a member of the Zanesville High School Football Mothers Club and she was affectionately known as "Woo Woo". She was a devout Christian who always had a wonderful personality that everyone loved & would help anyone in need.
She is survived by her grandmother, Barbara A. Wilson; her parents, Donna L. Thompson Barker and Robert "Bob" E. Barker; her son, Antonio Alessio "Tony" (Alli Kern) Amato; two sisters, Crystal Curtis & Tiffany Barker; nieces & nephews; Keely Thomas, James H. Curtis III, J.T. (Betty) Roberts, Chase (Alexis Pappas-Roberts) Roberts; Aunts & Uncles, Robert "Bobby" Thompson, Donald D. Thompson and Geneva (Richard) Schmidt, several great nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Wanda was preceded in death by her grandfather, James E. Wilson and two sisters, Pamela L. Roberts and Trisha G. Barker.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, November 10, 2022 with funeral service held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 11, 2022 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
