February 26, 1949 - January 26, 2026 (Age 76)

Ms. Wanda “Jeannie” Stegall, 76, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, at Piedmont Medical Center, after a brief illness.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road in Rock Hill, from 1 p.m. until 1:50 p.m. A celebration of life will immediately follow, at 2 p.m. The burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road in Rock Hill. Family and friends will gather afterwards at the home of M.J. Sharifi, 1819 Landry Lane in Rock Hill.

Jeannie worked as a cosmetologist in Rock Hill for more than 30 years. She was the official make-up artist for WSOC-TV for several years, and she was the first official make-up artist for the Charlotte Hornet Honeybees.

Jeannie loved big hair and big jewelry. She taught her daughter, “always gaudy, never tacky!” And, the bigger the hair, the closer to God. She also loved the official South Carolina State Dance – the shag – and she once got married on the dance floor at Studebakers during the National Shag Competition.

She loved animals and enjoyed watching birds. She was a Christian who often thought about how amazing it was going to be to see her family in Heaven. She spoke about it during the last week of her life, knowing it was approaching. She was not afraid because she knew with certainty where she would spend eternity.

She was born Feb. 26, 1949, in Rock Hill, to Lucy Simpson Stegall and W.F. “Fat” Stegall. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Peggy Ann Stegall, whom she never met in this life, but was excited to finally meet in Heaven. She also had several special pets. Her beloved dog Lil and cat Koven, who were waiting for her as well.

She is survived by her daughter, M.J. Sharifi (Mike), and three granddaughters: Layla Sharifi, of Los Angeles, CA; Lida Sharifi Barr (Kyle), of Myrtle Beach; and Mina Sharifi, of Rock Hill.
