Wilbur C. Herman

Wilbur C. Herman, 89, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born October 25, 1932, in Greensburg, a son of the late Cletus and Bertha (Shively) Herman. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Prior to retirement he had been employed by PPG Industries in South Greensburg for 35 years. Wilbur played on the PPG Golf League and was a member of Valley Green Golf Course. He was a member of Church of the Brethren, Southwest Greensburg. Wilbur was an avid and successful hunter and enjoyed hunting camp with Mark, Chuck, and Joe, winning many hands of poker. He enjoyed playing pool and family cookouts with Betty, Mark, Deb, Chuck, Martha, Tammie, Lysa, Trevor, and Kennedy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian Scott Herman; two sisters, Myrtle Byers and Nancy Fmura, and an infant sister. Wilbur is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty J. (Lovell) Herman; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Debra Herman; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 1:30 to 5 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Stephen Parfitt officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park with Full Military Honors accorded by the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg Honor Guard.
