Wilfred “Clint” Thompson, age 92, of Groveport, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 24, 1932, in Jefferson Township, he was the son of the late Charles and Virginia (Marshall) Thompson.

Clint proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy. A devoted Christian, he was an active member of Asbury South United Methodist Church, where he found community and solace.

An enthusiastic supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Clint dedicated many years volunteering as an usher at games. He cherished reading, particularly the Bible, and enjoyed puzzle books during his leisure time. Clint was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Cincinnati Reds and had a profound appreciation for good food.

Above all, Clint valued his family, relishing every moment spent together. Clint made sure each family member had a personalized ornament to hang on the tree at Christmas and we all looked forward to seeing them and the Joy it gave Clint to explain who and what each one represented, this is a testament to his love and thoughtfulness.

Clint was preceded in death by his daughter, Vickie Webster, and his siblings, Charles, and Juanita.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Gerri Thompson; his children, Bobbie (Dennis) Townsend, Thomas Thompson, Bonnie (James) Schmitz, Christine (Mike) Siriano, and Kimberly Gool; grandchildren, Jonathon, Benjamin, Rachel, Rebecca, and Jimmy; 10 great-grandchildren; Karl, and Milo his canine buddies that loved him very much.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Asbury South United Methodist Church, located at 4760 Winchester Pike, Columbus, OH 43232.
