William Byers

William James Byers, 82, died peacefully Thursday December 25, 2025, at the Loyalhanna Senior Suites in Latrobe. He was born August 23, 1943, in Pittsburgh a son of the late Clifford Pool and Jeannette Virginia Byers.

As a kid he had worked for H.A. Byers Garage in Greensburg, He was a graduate of Greensburg High School and the Valley Forge Military College. For over 26 years he worked for Robertshaw Controls in New Stanton (past president of management council) and then worked for Motch & Eichele Co. in Cleveland, Ohio where he was a territory manager for Western PA and West Virginia for the past 19 years and had a love of horses, golfing and traveling. He was a Life Member of the New Stanton Volunteer Fire Co. (past president), president of the New Stanton VFD relief Association and a member of the emergency management service for New Stanton. Bill belonged to the AMVETS of Greensburg, the American Legion of S. Greensburg and the A&B Club of Youngwood.

He is survived by his daughters; Suzanne Byers Severance (Robert) of Amelia Island, FL and Cindy Byers Vrable (Charles Stough) of New Alexandria, grandchildren; Nicholas Byers and Kylie Vrable.

A memorial service will be conducted Sunday December 28, 2025, at 1pm in the New Alexandria United Methodist Church, 106 Washington Street, New Alexandria, PA 15670.

Private burial will be made in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
