William Greene

William R. Greene, 91, of Greensburg, died Friday, February 2, 2024, in Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born July 12, 1932, in Verona, a son of the late Ralph Jacob and Nellie Mae (Beck) Greene. Prior to retirement he had been a gasoline tanker driver for Sun Oil Company, where he won several awards for safe driving. William was the hardest working person anyone has ever known. His family liked to call him a “workaholic” he enjoyed it so much. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greensburg. William boarded horses for over 60 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet M. (Cope) Greene; a brother; a sister; and a step- sister. He is survived by his two daughters, Terry Riehle (Craig) and Deborah Greene; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 11 AM to 12 PM Tuesday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will be held at 12 PM Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Davd Clement officiating. Interment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
