William Sarokon

William H. “Thumper” Sarokon, 81, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born March 11, 1943, in Niagara Falls, NY, a son of the late Michael and Orpha (Turnbull) Moschetti. Thumper worked for Overmyer Mould before retiring from the Greater Greensburg Sewage Authority. He was a 1961 graduate of Greensburg Salem High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Lynn Sarokon; a son, Michael Sarokon; a brother, Michael Moschetti; and a sister, Michele Moschetti. He is survived by his daughter, Dana Sarokon; five grandchildren, Quintina, Stefan, Cameron, Michael “Andy”, and Morgan; a sister, Marybelle Weber; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 PM Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11 AM Saturday in the funeral home. Private interment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
