William G. Stubbs

William G. "Buster" Stubbs, 82, of Herminie No.2, passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, in Transitions Healthcare, North Huntingdon, with his family by his side. He was born April 8, 1940, in Hutchinson, a son of the late William H. and Anna A. (Kohosek) Stubbs. Prior to his retirement, Buster worked at U.S. Steel - Edgar Thomson Plant, for more than 35 years as a boilermaker. He then worked at Carradam Golf Club as a ranger for many years. He was also a bartender at Bucky's in Herminie that lasted six years instead of two weeks. He was a member of St. Edward Church in Herminie. Buster absolutely loved watching any sports in person and on TV. He was an avid golfer, hunter and enjoyed playing cards. He was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Buster is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marian (Pavsek) Stubbs; daughter, Heather L. Zarisky, of South Park; four sisters, Peggy (Bill) Bushmire, of Aliquippa, Joyce Faltz, of New Stanton, Rose Ann Miller and Joan (Butch) Krevokuch, both of West Newton; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Buster will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Transitions for their loving care and support in the short period that Buster was there with them. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
