William Swarmer

Cumberland, MD – William Swarner, 90, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, UPMC- Western Maryland.
Born September 29, 1934, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Swarner was the son of the late William and Amanda (Bennett) Swarner. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Marlene Swarner, 1999; and his brother: Carl Swarner.
William was a Marine Corps Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Kelly Springfield and Allegany County as a supervisor for the inmate work crew. William was a past member of the Henry Hart VFW, Potomac Lodge AF&AM, Scottish Rite 32nd Mason, Ali Ghan Shrine Club, and the Loyal Order of Moose (Past Governor). He was a present member of the Mountain Side Marines and the Marine Corps League (Life Member).
William is survived by his children: Rusty Swarner and wife, Cindy; Roxanne Frantz and husband, Jerry; and Marty Swarner and wife, Tracy. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Arin Baker, Jason Frantz, Ashley Preston, Courtney Spataro, and William “B.J.” Joseph Swarner; and his great grandchildren: Mikayla and Micah Frantz, Sawyer and Charleigh Preston, Emma and Evan Spataro, and Bryson, Hailey, Macy, Brayden Swarner, Brenna and Addison Scarlett.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
A private graveside service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
