Yvonne G. Rector
March 2, 1958 - August 20, 2025 (Age 67)
Yvonne Grant Rector 67, of Richburg, SC was surrounded by her family at home when she was reunited with her son, Roy on August 20, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Rock Hill, SC on March 2, 1958, to James A. Grant and Margaret “Millie” Grant. Yvonne was raised in Rock Hill where she attended local schools. She graduated from Horry-Georgetown Technical College with her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. On August 24, 1985, she married her husband and best friend, Bobby Rector, in Rock Hill at Glencairn Gardens.
In 1997, Yvonne and Bobby moved to Richburg, SC where she worked in home health as a Licensed Practical Nurse and most recently as an Office Manager with New Horizons Home Care of Rock Hill.
Yvonne had a passion for life. She loved spending time with her family with their many traditions and riding motorcycles and traveling with Bobby and their close friends. She was especially proud of honoring her son, Roy’s memory every year with The Annual Roy Rector Suicide Awareness Ride.
She was predeceased by her son, Roy Eldridge Rector, and her parents, Jim and Millie Grant.
She is survived by her husband and best friend, Bobby, her son, Joshua Farley and partner Kerry Smith, her brother, Mike Grant and wife, Cathy, her sister, Bonnie Beamguard and husband, Jeff, and her granddaughter, Paislei. She shared a special relationship with her Aunt Nancy Love and Denise Bullard, Keith and Marcia Rabon, Jason “Stumpy” Burgess, and many nieces, nephews, close friends and coworkers.
Visitation hours will be Friday August 22, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732 at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, 620 South Cherry Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
