John C. Long
January 29, 1937 - December 27, 2025 (Age 88)
John C. Long, 88, of Lititz, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
He was born in Lancaster, the son of the late Edgar and Miriam (Stradtman) Long, and was the husband of Carol Ressler Long, his high-school sweetheart.
A 1955 McCaskey High School alumnus and a 1959 graduate of Millersville State Teachers' College, he retired from teaching Industrial Arts at McCaskey and formerly taught at Lincoln Middle School and Spring Grove High School.
John was involved in many local organizations and loved wood-working, gardening, and fishing. However, his greatest love was being with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, his daughter Jennifer, wife of Jeffrey Braas, and his son Michael Long, four granddaughters, and his great-grandson. Also surviving is his sister, Mary Ellen Bordner.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, two sisters, and a granddaughter.
Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 31 South Duke St., Lancaster, PA 17602, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at Holy Trinity.
A family interment will be at Conestoga Memorial Park.
