Phyllis C. Kiser

September 16, 1927 - August 14, 2015 (Age 87)

Phyllis Craft Kiser passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015, at her home in Westminster Towers. Born in New Castle, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Elizabeth T Craft. She graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, OH and Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Case Western Reserve, Cleveland OH. She moved to Rock Hill with her husband, Dr. Frank W. Kiser, in 1957. Her life was filled with love for her family and service to others. She enriched our community at the Red Cross, in her support of our public schools, as an early voice for the Fine Arts Association and as a coordinator for the HOPE Clothing Closet. She was awarded a Life Membership by Presbyterian Women and served at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church as a deacon, elder, and Stephen Minister. She is survived by her husband of 67 years; their children: Kathy Emerson (Harry) of Rock Hill, Betsy Strauss (Bill) of Springfield, NJ, and son Jimmy Kiser (LeAnn) of Taylors, SC; seven granddaughters; four great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. Her only sister was the late Nancy Craft McIlroy Schilb. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, August 17, 2015, at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Jeff Bryan will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Also, a visitation will be held in the Community Room at Westminster Towers from 3:00-4:00pm on Sunday, August 16, 2015.
