Thomas E. Ecker

Thomas E. Ecker, 70, companion of Sandra L. Geri, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 25 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center where he had been a patient since February 9.

A life-long resident of Pottstown, he was the son of the late Harry and Mary V. (Zamorski) Ecker.

A retiree of Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., Bridgestone/Firestone, and Redner's Market, Tom was a past-president and member of the Pottstown Quoit Club, Holy Trinity Catholic Club, and the Pottstown German Club.

Tom was an avid New York Yankees, Phillies and Eagles fan. He also enjoyed golfing, NASCAR, reading, watching cooking shows and shopping. He was devoted to his beloved cat "Lucy".

Along with his companion, Sandy, of 30 years, he is survived by his son, Thomas H. Ecker, Naples, FL; his daughter Cynthia L. Tomei, Naperville, IL; and his sister Marlene, wife of Jon Sellers, Phoenix, AZ. He also leaves three grandchildren, Savanna and Davide Tomei and Natalie Ecker along with his ex-wife, Sandra English, Naples, FL. Also surviving is his step son, J. Mitchell Geri, Sr. husband of Kathy and five step grandchildren, Kristy, John, Kaitlin, Todd and Nicklaus.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his stepson, Todd J. Geri, Sr. and his beloved cat "Jack".

Funeral services will be private.

Tom was a very private person and no one ever understood his sense of humor except for Sandy and a few select friends, but he wanted all of his family and friends to know -------"HE DID IT HIS WAY!!!!".

Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.
