Betty C. Barr

Betty Carolyn Barr, 88 of Zanesville died at 2:40 AM Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the Oaks at Northpointe.
She was born October 1, 1933, in New Brockton, Alabama the daughter of Wilbur H. Walls and Bessie Nora McCall Walls.
Betty was a member of First Christian Church of the Disciples of Christ. She retired from the State of Ohio Bureau of Unemployment Compensation. Betty loved being with and caring for her family. Above all, she loved being with and caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had many friends; she loved each of them as well. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards with family and friends, and playing games with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by four children: Richard Barr Jr., Denise (Rick) Gebhart, Doug (Lynn) Barr and Scott (Joan) Barr; nine grandchildren: Dr. Sarah (Dave Rock) Barr, Dr. Ross (Heather) Barr, Matthew (Emily) Gebhart, Andrew (Joanna) Gebhart, Stephanie (Jared) Cope, Jordan Spradlin, Dylan Spradlin, Sam (Danielle) Barr, and John (Emma) Barr, and 15 great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Miriam Parker and Martha Claussen. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. "Dick" Barr December 29, 2018; two brothers, Wilbur Walls Jr. and Johnny Walls, and her sister Elaine Thompson.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at a later date.
Memorial contribution can be made to the National Alzheimer’s Association.
