Catherine J. Reed

Catherine J. Reed, 95, of Irwin, passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2022, at Golden Heights Personal Care, in Irwin, surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 19, 1927, in Duquesne, daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Mewherter) Powers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Reed, in 1994; and two brothers, Charles and James Powers. Catherine was a homemaker and was a past member of The Church in Sutersville. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking and baking. She was very meticulous and loved to have a clean house. She especially loved spending time with her family. Catherine is survived by her two sons, Robert C. (Sandy) Reed, of Murrysville, and Ronald R. Reed, of Irwin with whom she resided; two special grandchildren, Melissa Reed and Kerry (Wendy) Reed; and special great-grandson, Dakota Carroll. Catherine will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank ProMedica Hospice and the staff at Golden Heights for all their love and compassionate care.
