David E. Frank
August 24, 1959 - March 14, 2022 (Age 62)
David Edward Frank, 62, of Mint Hill, NC, died unexpectedly at his home on March 14, 2022.
David was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on August 24, 1959, the son of Harry and Gracie Kiker Frank. He grew up in Charlotte, graduating from Independence High School where he played football and ran track. David then attended Appalachian State University where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. A young lady down the street named Monica Earp caught his eye and on September 5, 1981, they were married at New Hope Baptist Church.
David worked for Duke Power for 20 years before a career change led him to doing warehouse logistics for Raytheon. When not working, he enjoyed playing tennis in his younger years and also church league softball. When around the house, he enjoyed working in the yard and doing woodwork in his shop. Blessed with a talent for art, he could draw incredible pictures. But most of all, he loved the time spent with family, friends and his “grandmen” aka grandsons (especially playing Fortnite with them).
David is survived by his wife, Monica; his daughters: Marie (husband Josh) Hogan of New Salem, NC, and Megan (fiance Landon Campbell) Frank of Mint Hill; his grandmen: Colton, Cale and Cash Hogan; bonus grandchildren: Rylea and Landon Jr.; and his sister, Gwen (husband Gary) Barr of Indian Trail, NC. He is further survived by a niece Samantha (husband Kyle) Laszlo; a nephew Jarred (wife Morgan) Barr; and numerous other relatives and friends.
David’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for him and for them. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 17, from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, NC 28105. A family graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 18, at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Charlotte, NC 28227.
In honor of his church family and love of his “grandmen”, the family respectfully requests any donations be made in David’s name to First Baptist Church Indian Trail Children’s Ministry.
