Gloria J. Tighe

Gloria J. “Sis” Tighe, 73 of Scranton died Sunday February 27, at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband, Richard Tighe.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late John and Jean Weatherhog Wheeler, she attended West Scranton High School. Prior to retirement, she worked for Dempsey Uniform.
Also surviving are daughters Jean Heil and husband, Bob, Scranton, and Rose Hannon and fiancé, Mike Ceccoli, Las Vegas, NV; a son, Patrick Hannon, and fiancée, Elizabeth Jones, Scranton; sisters, Lucille Frable and husband, Wesley, Dunmore; Thelma Rinaldi, Dunmore; Betty Jean Fisher, Scranton; Ruth Ann Gingerlowski and husband, Leo, Scranton; and Lena Wheeler, Scranton; brothers, Stephen Wheeler, Scranton; Robert Wheeler and companion, Debra Trowbridge, Taylor; and Carl Wheeler, Mayfield; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Betty Jean Hannon; a brother, John Wheeler; and a brother-in-law, Anthony “Zar” Rinaldi.
A blessing service will be held on Tuesday at 12 p.m. in Savino Traditional Funerals and Cremation Care, 157 South Main Avenue in West Scranton, Carl J. Savino Jr., supervisor. Interment to follow In Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Township.
