James E. Hahn, 81, of Harrison City, died Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Jim was born August 12, 1939, in Pittsburgh the son of the late Edgar S. and Susan A. (Slack) Hahn. Prior to his retirement, Jim was a dedicated member of the Irwin Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Association since 1959. James Held numerous positions including, President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. He chaired numerous fund-raising events for the Irwin Volunteer Fire Dept. and Ambulance such as Monte Carlo Nights, charitable ticket dinners, carnivals, bingo, and countless other fundraisers. Jim also held different officer positions for the fire department’s Relief Association. He volunteered at Oak Hollow YMCA, St. Barbara’s Church Festival, the Irwin Volunteer Fire Dept. and Ambulance Service, the Penn Township Community Picnic and Penn Township Business Association. Jim played slow pitch softball for many years including several senior leagues. He is retired from Bombardier Transportation Division, in West Mifflin, Westinghouse Electric of Trafford and East Pittsburgh. James was a 1957 graduate of Irwin High School. Surviving is his beloved wife Beverly (Ryan) Hahn whom he married May 9, 1964; a sister, Judith (Donald) Barrett, of Powhatan, VA.; sister-in-law Regina Venturella, of Conway, SC; loving uncle of Eric (Laura) Barrett, Lynda Barrett, Janine Venturella, James J. (Lora) Venturella and John D. (Monica) Venturella; great uncle of Zackary, Mackenzie, Abbigail and Connor S. Barrett, Alisha Webb, Brooke, Brian, Matthew, Nicholas and Cooper Venturella, Alexis, Steven and Anthony Camp; great great uncle of Leeland, and a “bonus daughter” Darcie. James’ family wishes to express a special acknowledgement of thanks to Dr. Kevin M. Wong and his staff, Forbes Regional Hospital, Home Care Nursing, Palliative and Hospice Nursing, and Penn Township Ambulance Association. Extra special thank you to great niece Alisha Webb who was Jim’s volunteer nurse since March 12, 2020. Friends will be received 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at Ott funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Community Church 3487 PA. Route 130 Irwin PA.
