Jolie K. Smith
March 21, 1945 - December 2, 2022 (Age 77)
Cumberland, MD – Jolie K. Smith, 77, of Cumberland, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022, peacefully at her home.
Born on March 21, 1945, she was the daughter of the late George E. “Buddy” Crass and Dorothy (McMurray). She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. Smith, Sr.; her brother, Philip “Pudge” Crass; and her niece, Cassandra Clites.
Jolie graduated Fort Hill High School, class of 1964, and later became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was an avid dog lover and enjoyed going to dog shows. Her Sheltie, Prime Time Buddy, became an AKC champion, and in later years, she always had her dog Bailey by her side. She enjoyed bowling, softball, trivia, and shuffleboard, with her team becoming three time champions for the Moose club. She was also a big Pittsburgh Pirates fan.
She is survived by her three sons, Fredrick J. Smith, Jr. and wife Kimberly, TN, Christopher T. Smith, Cumberland, and Patrick S. Smith, NJ; grandchildren, October Smith (husband Keith Wary), Jessica Smith, Kearsten Smith, and Jacob Smith; as well as two great-grandchildren, Earl Wray and Sadie Wray; sisters, Mary Lou Arnone and Rebecca Cline; brother, George L. Crass; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home immediately following visitation at 1 p.m. with Pastor Floyd Bender officiating. Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, MD.
