Peter M. Laihr, age 73, of Blacklick, died Sunday, December 5, 2021 at OSU Medical Center. Born April 21, 1948 in Columbus to the late Francis Paul and Hannah Helen (Hughes) Laihr, he was a 1966 graduate of Bishop Hartley High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Viet Nam. He was retired from Krieger Ford (formerly with Dick Masheter), and was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, VFW Post 9857, and American Legion Post 430.
He is survived by his sons, Pete (Marti) Laihr, Pickerington, and Robert (Michele) Laihr, Canal Winchester; grandchildren, Sam, Abby, Ben, and Matthew; and brother, Francis Paul (Diane) Laihr, Jr, Nashport.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Laihr in 2000; sister, Cynthia Laihr; and brother, James Joseph Laihr.
Friends may visit 4-7 pm Wednesday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Rd N (St. Rt. #256), Pickerington, where funeral service will be held 1 pm Thursday with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to Hospice of Central Ohio in his memory.
