LaVale, MD – Ronald William Holt, 85, of LaVale, MD, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at UPMC Western Maryland.
Born November 15, 1936, in Cumberland, MD, Ronald began his life as “Little John Doe” by being taken to Memorial Hospital as an infant and no knowledge of his birth parents, after five years of court hearings, he was adopted by a loving couple: Joseph and Josephine Holt. Ronald was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Holt, as well as his siblings: Roger Holt, Adrian Holt, Alan Holt, Ernie Holt, LeAnna “Nook” Boland, Bladen “Boot” Holt and Mary Fishel – Roberts.
Ronald was a U.S. Army Veteran and he worked for various trucking companies. He was an owner and operator leased to General Delivery Trucking. Ronald was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church and a life member of the Haystack Sportsmen’s Club.
Ronald is survived by his son: Steve Harper and wife, Linda; his grandchildren: Lindsey Mueller and husband, Derek and Amanda Cyr and husband, Dylan; three great-grandsons: Arlo, Henry and Oliver; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday, October 7, 2022, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 1:00 P.M., with Troy Cubbage officiating. The family will also receive friends one hour prior.
Interment will be in Restlawn Mausoleum.
