Zilphia R. Tice

Zilphia R. Tice, 93, of Bedford, died on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Bedford Colonial Courtyard. She was born on June 23, 1931 in LaGrange, NC, a daughter of the late Luther and Essie (Ruffin) Massey. On December 22, 1951 in Newport News, VA, she married Harold Tice and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1978. She is survived by a son, Dennis Tice and wife Stacey of Bedford; a daughter, Stacy Leah Tice of Wilson, NC; three grandchildren: Linda Gail Tice-Monroe of Bedford; Ronald Edward Tice of Irvine, CA; Katherine Ann Webb and husband Jarrod of Bedford; six great grandchildren, and a sister, Norma Jackson of Wilson, NC. She was preceded in death by one daughter Linda Gail Tice; seven brothers: Henry, Walter, Raymond, Clarence, Frank, Tom, and Bob Massey; and one sister Lena.
Zilphia was a member of the Everett United Methodist Church and worked as a secretary for REA and the Bedford Farm Bureau. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and volunteered for the Red Cross and March of Dimes.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Jim Miller officiating. Burial will be private.
