Cumberland, MD-Anna “Colleen” Smith, 92, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Peace Healthcare at Lions Center.
Born October 28, 1929, in Cumberland, MD, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Arlie Lease and Byrle Darlene (McKenzie) Lease. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billie Eugene Smith, Sr.; her siblings: Reuben Lease, Darlene Lease, Buford Lease, Arlie Lease, Jr., and Wilma Ware; and a great-granddaughter: Quinn Drew.
Colleen was a graduate of Allegany High School and was a former employee of Sears, Montgomery Ward, K-Mart, and retired from Bon-Ton. She attended St. John’s United Church of Christ until it closed and then attended LaVale United Methodist Church. Colleen was a member of the Cresaptown Eagles Aerie #2883 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved playing bingo, and cards with her sister, especially a good game of Setback.
Colleen is survived by her children: LaAnna Roberts and husband Glen; Lisa Swauger and husband Jim; Billie E. Smith, Jr. and wife Doris; and Angela Moorehead and boyfriend, Cory May; her brother: Paul Lease; and a sister: Donna Mallow; her grandchildren: Holly DeLattre and husband Beaux; Cierra Roberts and boyfriend, Brett Showalter; Kevin Drew and wife Mistie; Mallory Drew and partner Cierra Jess; Dalyn Sites and wife JoAnn; Travis Shaffer and wife Melanie; Casey Smith and wife Maddie; Hunter Moorehead; and Leah Moorehead; and her great-grandchildren: Shyla, Declan, Ashlynn, Brooklyn, Madelyn, Charlie, Henry, Page, Shandi, Jackson, Eli, and Major; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 11:00 A.M.to 1:00 P.M. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Tomislav Dosch officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ginger, the ICU Nurse at UPMC-Western Maryland; and her sitter, Mary Gray, for all the care and compassion given.
